Code 246
Every four school days, a firearm is discharged at a K–12 campus in the U.S.—and lockers and classrooms echo with panic.
246 is police code for “Shooting at an Inhabited Dwelling.
Let’s work with the local police to help make everyone safer. After all, innocent people not getting shot is something we can all agree on.
We’ll create a mobile app that helps people survive a 246 situation while simultaneously assisting first responders to deal with the situation.
The 246 App has GPS tracking to identify threats and to guide users to safety and police. The app will include family notification tools, and will feature a gunfire identifier that uses audio recognition to glean vital information for law enforcement, so they are informed about what kinds of weapons are being used, the number of shooters, rate of fire, etc.
We may not be able to stop these events from happening, but we can give people a better chance when they do.

The home screen is designed to be very simple and easy to use.

Using technology that "Shaazam" uses, the app can identify the gun being used by analyzing the sound of the gunfire

The app includes a GPS tracking system that reads the buildings blueprint and gives you direction to safety and way from the threat.

When downloaded onto your device, 246 also creates a widget on your lock screen for easy access to the app without having to unlock your phone screen.
